The 60th Anniversary of VEDay ( Victory in Europe)  was commemorated at a special  event held in the Community Library and organised by  the Librarian, Margaret Sweenie. Among the many villagers who attended were some who had served in the Forces during World War 2 and others who had memories of the village during that conflict.

The first group of photographs show some of those enjoying the tea, scones, and cakes provided while sharing their war-time experiences.

The second group of photographs and newspaper adverts were displayed around the library and include information about local people in the forces.
