Night School Dance 1932. These folks look to be around early 30's so were born at the turn of the twentieth century

No names but it was a good quality image so worth uploading. Difficult to date this photograph, there is a look of poverty about it so perhaps taken during WW1 1914 - 1918 or early 1930's.

Hugh Devlin and Duncan Blackwood were both born in 1918. The pupils look around 14 years old dating this photograph at 1932.

Margaret Robertson, Annie Smith & Willie Holmes were all born around 1926. Assuming this is Primary 3 making them 8 years old, dates the photograph to 1934

Cathy Robb, Margaret Holmes & Ian Robertson were all born in 1924. Assuming they are 10 years old this dates the photograph to 1934

Jack Barrowman, Betty Carswell & Jean Price were all born around 1928. Assuming they are 8 years old in this photograph dates it as 1936.

Our uncle, Robert Smith (No2), was born in 1927 and assuming these pupils are 14 years old dates this photograph to 1941.

Archibald, Stewart & Cockburn were born around 1922. They look to be around 14 which would date this photograph as 1936. Mr Adam was headmaster from 1931 till 1942

John O'Hagan, Jim Smith & Jim Johnstone were all born in 1925. Assuming this Senior School 1st Year this would make them 13 years old dating the photograph to 1938. Agnes Sprought at No 15 married our Uncle Colin. They had two daughters Constance and Elaine. The family emigrated to New Zealand. As of 2025 only Elaine is still with us.

Janet McKinlay, Ruby Farquhar & Tom Reid were all born in 1936. Assuming this is a Primary 7 class and the pupils 12 years old would date this photograph as 1948

Ian Weir, John Reid & Catherine Graham were all born in 1944. These pupils look to be 6/7 years old. That would date this photograph to 1950/51

John Menzies, Graham Wilson & James Love were all born in 1943. Assuming these pupils are in Primary 4 making them 9 years old that would date this photograph as 1952

Jim Wilson, Graham Reid & Georgean McGinigal were all born in 1941. Assuming this class is Primary 5 this would make them 10 years old dating the photograph to 1951. Mr John Ninmo was headmaster from 1942 till 1953

This one is easy to date, my sister Jean is in it at No. 6. She was born in 1947, the class is Primary 7 dating the photograph to 1959.

Pamela Smith, Jean Wilson & Christine McKinlay were all born in 1952. Assuming these pupils are 9 years old dates this photograph as 1961. Pamela Smith is Pat's sister and my cousin.

Only recognised Anna Connell. We both went for music lesson to Mrs Warden. Anna was born in 1956 and was in the year below me. She looks to be around 6 years old which dates this photograph as 1962. Margaret Speirs taught in Primary 1 & 2 again suggesting these pupils are 5 or 6 years old. Mr Alexander Smith was headmaster from 1958 till 1968.
No 21 is very familiar, think she was a farmers daughter - thanks to Linda Emslie for identifying her as Mary Lamont from the farm behind what was the Mossend Hotel. Also for identifying a couple of others.

Tom Archibald, William Andrew and Constance Smith were all born in 1954. Assuming they are 10/11 years old dates this photograph as 1964/65. Constance Smith was a cousin to Pat and me, sadly she passed away at a young age. She emigrated to New Zealand with her mum, dad and sister Elaine in the late 1960's.
