1911 Map
This 1911 map shows further evolution of the site. The original small sawmill building has been replaced by an extension to the block printing works (building 3). The new sawmill building, circled in red as before, has been reduced in size because the net weaving operation was relocated in 1889 to one of the remaining buildings of the Old mill on Calder Street, the main building of which was completely destroyed on 22nd July 1874. A second extension has been added to the block printing works with the building marked 2. The printing works itself was started in building 1 which was the former bleach works of Hamilton Adam.
