The purpose of the site is to help those new to the village to connect with its past and for those who have left for pastures new to remember what was left behind
Silk fabrics produced at Calderhaugh mill Lochwinnoch. Originally a textile mill for cotton fabrics, for a while it focused on linen and latterly silk.
Silk Mill Products
Calderhaugh mill was commandeered during the second World War to produce silk parachutes for the war effort.
