The Falls and The Laigh Road Lade
The Laigh Road along the banks of the Calder ran parallel with the lade that fed the Calder Glen mills. This road (now just a path) led to a cottage below Raven's Craig. Perhaps it also led to a small meal mill situated at the Millar's pool. Remnants of the cottage are still visible today, all that remains of a possible meal mill is a large mill wheel on the bank of the Millar's pool.
The falls were constructed to feed a lade which ran to the Calderpark mill then onwards to Calderhaugh Mill.
