Lochwinnoch
The purpose of the site is to help those new to the village to connect with its past and for those who have left for pastures new to remember what was left behind
Exterior

Pre 1899. The next photograph has been definitively dated as 1899. The layout of the wall is as it was before the changes recorded in the next photograph therefore it pre-dates it - obviously enough!
Probably the oldest photograph of the UF Church albeit mostly shrouded by a tree.
The construction of the railway resulted in the house on the left being demolished. There is also a house on the right that was demolished. Only the iron fence and hedge bounding this property is visible. There is a photograph of it in the Church Street section.

1899
This was taken to record the changes to the wall surrounding the church. This work is referenced in the article about the wee church.
If you look closely you can see the stone work is fresh. And if you compare it with the first photograph there are a number of changes. Firstly the pillars either side of the gates are wider and there is now two sections of railing on the left hand side. In the first picture there is a wall running from the end of the railing on the right hand side going to the house. In the next photograph you will see this has been replaced by a lower wall with railings on top. In fact the railings have not yet been installed in the current photograph.

Early 1900
This photograph also records the changes to the wall made in 1899. It was taken after the previous photograph because all the railings are now installed. Also the tree has lost its leaves so it is either 6 months later or 1 year later.

Early 1900
Probably taken at the same time as the previous picture. The Keanie buildings on the left were erected in two phases, the first 1896/97 and the second completed by 1900.

April 1975
I think this photograph illustrates why the wall was altered in 1899. The church looks much more open rather than closeted behind a high wall.
